BRANDON RAMEY
Co-Director of Ballet Memphis School
Choreographer for Youth Ballet Memphis
Brandon Ramey received his dance training at the Boston Ballet School, the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and the San Francisco Ballet School and Trainee Program. He danced professionally with Ballet Memphis from 2009 - 2023, and has taught in the Ballet Memphis School since 2013, becoming the school's Assistant Director in 2021 and the Co-Director, along with his wife, Virginia, in 2023.
Throughout his 14 year performing career, Brandon has danced in a range of styles and in many notable works, including leading roles in Swan Lake and Giselle, as well as in new pieces by headlining choreographers such as Trey McIntyre, Stephanie Martinez, and Matthew Neenan. As a choreographer he has been commissioned to create main-stage works for Ballet Memphis, and regularly choreographs for the Ballet Memphis School's performing group Youth Ballet Memphis.
Brandon's work with Ballet Memphis led to his selection as one of Memphis' best and brightest in the Memphis Flyer's Twenty Under Thirty Class of 2018. When he's not in the studio he enjoys fixing up his family's 100+ year old house, seeing musicals with Virginia, and going on adventures with his daughters, Ellie and Marty. Brandon is available for teaching engagements or choreographic commissions.
